LUNA, Apayao – A total of 541 employees of the provincial government tested negative for illegal drugs during the workplace drug testing activity on February 24, 2025, at Aliwa Gym.
Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), and Provincial Health Office (PHO) facilitated the testing, and tapped the assistance of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). It covered both permanent staff and job order workers.
Mandatory under RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Civil Service Commission (CSC) Memorandum Circular No. 13, Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation No. 13, and Executive Order No. 292, the activity aims to maintain a safe and drug-free government workforce.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Mark Joleen Calban underscored its importance and stressed that a drug-free workplace enhances decision-making, efficiency, and public trust. He likewise added that PDEA and PHO plan to conduct further random drug tests to uphold accountability and integrity within the provincial workforce. By Loremia Pareja
