CONNER, Apayao – The Provincial Office of Agricultural Services (POAS) in partnership with the Municipal Agriculture Office of Conner recently conducted the graduation ceremony of fifty-five (55) farmers in Conner, Apayao.
Said fisherfolk and farmers completed their training on Tilapia Pond Culture and Organic Farming, respectively, in the Municipality of Conner last December 4, 2024 held at the PADM Gymnasium Caglayan, Conner, Apayao.
All fifty-five (55) successfully completed their training for four (4) months from July to November. Among the graduates, 27 participants were trained on tilapia pond culture technology and 28 participants focused on organic farming.
The training program, aimed at equipping local farmers with practical skills to improve food security and economic opportunities in their communities, was supported by Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. and Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang.
During the event, Mayor Jorico Bayaua expressed his gratitude to the provincial leaders for prioritizing farmers’ development by sending experts to guide the training sessions. He also commended the farmers for their commitment and hard work throughout the program.

Rinugyakon nga inyindorse dakayu iti kangatwan isu nga sapay la kuma ta iapply ken maishare yu met kadagiti daduma ti naadal yu,” he said.
As part of the graduation program, the farmers received Liquid Soil Conditioner from the LGU-Conner through the Municipal Agriculturist’s Office. By Michelle Acantilado
