LUNA, Apayao – Over 55 young leaders underwent Basic Youth Leadership Training in Kabugao on December 1-2, 2024, to become efficient, strong, confident, and capable leaders to serve their communities in the future.
The training was initiated by the 150th Maneuver Company under the Philippine National Police (PNP), Police Regional Office-Cordillera and Regional Mobile Force Battalion in partnership with the provincial government and the Kabugao municipal government led by Mayor Bensmar B. Ligwang.
Through the activities provided, participants who came from various schools had interactive sessions on a wide range of pertinent topics facilitated by renowned professionals.
It is hoped that the training will equip the young leaders with the crucial skills for effective leadership and community engagement.
Additionally, the participants were familiarized with the integration of the PNP Revised Police Community Relation Master Plan, which aims to transform the organization into a more capable, effective, and credible police force.
This initiative reflects the PNP’s commitment to fostering trust and cooperation within communities, with a vision for enhanced public safety and community relations over the coming years.
In his talk, Police Captain Reynaldo S. Lagnason, Deputy Company Commander, emphasized the importance of leadership training in empowering students and young people with the latest tools and strategies to unleash their potential.
“These young leaders are responsible for our society’s future and it is important that we give them the skills and information they require to handle the challenges of leadership in the modern world,” he added.
For the part of Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., he has been supporting initiatives on leadership training among youths, recognizing their role in development. By Joyce Arian Soria
