City officials recently congratulated and commended Ranz Louie Balay-odao of the University of the Cordilleras (UC) for placing fifth in the North Philippine Developmental Inter-Collegiate Golf Series held in San Rafael, Bulacan.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that Balay-odao’s remarkable achievement which is worthy of commendation brought pride and prestige to the UCian community, the city and the entire Cordillera region.
Balay-odao is a 21-year old business management student of the UC and landed in fifth spot among top amateur golfers in the Developmental Inter-Collegiate Golf Series held at the Northwoods Golf Club in San Rafael, Bulacan.
He fired 31 stableford points to share the fifth spot with Joshua Buenaventura of the University of the Philippines.
The council claimed that Balay-odao was triumphant, defeating top golfers from leading universities in the National Capital Region and other parts of Central Luzon.
Further, he was the only representative of the Cordillera in this prestigious competition.
