TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A total of Php 6,840,161.76 Fertilizer Discount Voucher (FDV) was distributed by the Office for the City Agricultural Services (OfCAS) to Tabuk farmers during the third leg of subsidy distribution on April 12-14, 2023 in various venues in the city.
From the aforementioned sum, a total of 1, 036.39 hectares of farm lots spread out around Tabuk are expected to be covered.
The FDV is a program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and its distribution in the city was facilitated by the OfCAS employees headed by Lim Docyugen.
Under the said program, the use of fertilizer vouchers offers an alternative to farmers with lower purchasing power to buy a sufficient volume of urea recommended for their rice fields as provided by DA’s Memorandum Order No. 65.
The first subsidy distribution was made last February 24, 2023 with Php 23,170,786.84 total amount of fertilizer discount vouchers covering 3,510.73 hectares followed by a total of Php 3,982,777.40 covering 603.45 hectares during the second leg distribution from March 16-17, 2023.
The total value of vouchers distributed to the farmers amounted to Php 34,223,014.98 covering 5,185.31 hectares.
The different merchants that took part in the distribution were Casigayan Farm Supply, FM Agromix and Vet Pharm, CNC Marketing, Oplay Tay-og Farm Supply, Agbannawag General Merchandise, Ybulo Farm Supply, Matagoan Farm Supply, Tay-og Farm and Poultry Supply, Valencia Agricultural Supply, JGL Farm Supply and General Merchandise, and Kintoman Farm Supply.
