LUNA, Apayao – Six local government units (LGUs) in the province have earned the prestigious 2023 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG), a significant feat recognizing their commitment to children’s right and welfare. The recipients of the award are LGUs Calanasan, Conner, Pudtol, Flora, Luna, and Santa Marcela.
The SCFLG, conferred by the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) is the result of a rigorous annual assessment, the Child-Friendly Local Government Audit (CFLGA).
The CFLGA evaluates LGUs on their implementation of child-friendly programs and services designed to improve children’s overall well-being. The assessment covers a range of criteria, including access to quality education, healthcare, nutrition, protection from harm and meaningful participation in community decision- making.
“Your dedication to promoting children’s rights across key areas survival, development, protection, participation, and governance is truly inspiring. This achievement is a testament to your continued commitment to prioritizing child welfare and protection,” wrote DILG Apayao on its official Facebook page.
