LUNA, Apayao – Sixty local entrepreneurs gained new skills and knowledge during a two-day Organizational Development Training organized by the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) on July 23-24, 2024, in Poblacion, Pudtol, Apayao.
As part of the Sustainable Livelihood Development Program Associations (SLPA), the training aimed to stimulate economic growth and empower local business owners. Participants engaged in a mix of lectures, discussions, hands-on workshops, and real exercises designed to provide them with needed tools for success in a competitive business environment. The training focused on business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and customer relations.
The sessions likewise covered topics such as setting up a social media business page, conducting and preparing minutes for association meetings, effective communication, inventory management, bookkeeping, accounting techniques, conflict resolution and stress management.
Held in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Apayao, the training is expected to boost economic growth by enhancing the capacity of local entrepreneurs.
Expert speakers comprised Mike Caban, Project Development Officer of DICT-Apayao; Reynie Tactac, Capacity Building Project Development Officer of DSWD-SLP Apayao; Jaylord Javier, Provincial Coordinator, DSWD-SLP Apayao; and Premadona Salazar, SLP Focal Person.
