LUNA, Apayao – Three units of power tiller amounting to PhP300,000 was awarded to 30 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and 33 small farm holders in Dagupan, Luna, Apayao.
It is hoped that the equipment shall aid the farmers in lessening their expenses as well as boost their production.
The Apayao office of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR-Apayao) said on November 13 that the program was part of the agency’s support services under the Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) Project which seeks to ensure food security and reduce poverty in the community by sustaining vegetable production.
The organization stated that the PAHP Project also intends to assist agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) organizations and ARBs themselves by connecting them to institutional purchasers and ensuring a consistent market for their produce in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Department of Interior and Local Government.
DAR-Apayao added that the 30 recipients are members of the Dagupan Local Farmers Association and are graduates of the Farm Business School Project which was concluded in November 2022 after the group finished twenty-five sessions. By PIO Apayao
