LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Sixty eight wanted persons were successively arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents in separate aggressive anti-criminality operations in the different parts of the Cordillera from May 5-11, 2024.
Police authorities said that Baguio City Police Office (CPO) recorded the highest number of arrests with 26 wanted persons apprehended, followed by Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with 14 arrests, Apayao PPO with 10 arrests, Kalinga PPO with eight arrests, Ifugao PPO with four arrests, and Abra PPO & Mountain Province PPO with three arrests each.
In the same week, zero crime incidents were recorded in the 22 municipalities in Abra, 10 municipalities each in Ifugao and Mountain Province, 6 municipalities in Benguet, 5 municipalities in Kalinga, and 4 municipalities in Apayao.
Further, in Baguio City, Naguilian Police Station (PS1), Loakan Police Station (PS4), and Aurora Hill Police Station (PS6) also recorded zero crime incidents out of the 10 police stations in the city.
Police Brig. Gen. David K. Peredo, Jr., regional director of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, commended the PRO Cordillera cops for the successful arrest of the wanted personalities and for their continuous hard work and perseverance in ensuring the safety and well-being of the people in the different parts of the region.
