CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – More than P7.8 million worth of marijuana plants were successfully destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during a week-long marijuana eradication operation at sitios Balbanog and Bang-ay of barangay Badeo, Kibungan and sitios Nagawa and Saleng in barangay Kayapa, Bakun, all in Benguet.
Senior Superintendent David Q. Lacdan, provincial director of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, said the operating troops discovered and destroyed in 18 different sites the 33, 375 fully grown marijuana plants and 35, 500 marijuana seedlings that are planted in a total land area of 4,586 square meters with a total Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P7,855,000.
The operatives were composed of elements of the Kibungan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Bakun MPS and the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency-CAR (PDEA-CAR).
Unfortunately, no cultivator was arrested by the operating troops during the eradication operation.
However, the operatives are on the process of identifying the owners of the plantation sites for the filing of the appropriate charges against them.
