BAGUIO CITY – Seven people, including several wanted persons, were arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after having found in their possession suspect6ed illegal drugs and assorted illegal drug paraphernalia during a buy bust operation at Outlook Drive, here, Monday night.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, acting city director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the arrested drug personalities as Robert Lantan Angco Sr. alias “Commander Libra,” 50, jobless, and a resident of Maryhurst Road, Outlook Drive, Baguio City, James Allan Sofronio, 49, and a resident of Km 6 La Trinidad, Benguet; Melchor Aplod Camasan, 45, single, from Mankayan, Benguet; Elmer Aswat Galing, 40, married, from Natonin, Mountain Province; Hildo Ablos Bogsit 53, widower, from La Trinidad, Benguet; Novelyn Bastawan Supa, 29, married, from Sagada, Mountain Province; and Bosh Aba Duclayan Baquiran, 28, single, from Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
Confiscated from their possession by the operating troops of BCPO were eight pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu), two digital weighing scale, other drug paraphernalia, six pieces 50 peso bill, seven pieces 20 peso bill, five units of Samsung cellphone, one Nokia cellphone, and one Smith and Wesson Revolver with no serial number.
Angco was said to be an ex-convict from the National Bilibid Prison while Camasan is facing various charges in the different courts of Baguio City over the past several years.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the BCPO headquarters for documentation prior to the filing of charges of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law against them before the city prosecutor’s office.
