FLORA, Apayao — A three-day Youth Development Session, held from July 23-25 at the Dr. Efren U. De San Jose Memorial and Sport Center Gymnasium, brought together around 70 young individuals for an educational experience.
Organized by the Local Government Unit (LGU) Flora, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the event was centered on the theme “Empowering Young Minds for a Sustainable Future.”
This aimed to support and empower both in-school (ISY) and out-of-school youth (OSY), including Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) non-compliant children, and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials.
The program covered topics such as Levels of Leadership, Habits of Highly Effective People, Career Advancement, Navigating the Path to Success, Managing Stress and Setbacks, Preparing for the Labor Market, and Job Preparation. These discussions aimed to strengthen relationships, reinforce knowledge, and provide training to the participants.
This session helped the youth prepare for their future roles, develop their talents and interests, learn leadership skills, and foster friendships as they interacted with their peers, and likewise provided opportunities for community service, further enriching their experience.
