PUDTOL, Apayao – The Provincial Governor’s Office (PGO), through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), conducted the orientation to and contract signing with the qualified applicants for the Apayao Barangay Social Welfare Workers (ABSW-Workers) on November 6.
The orientation, held at Barangay Lydia, this town, was attended by 75 qualified applicants from various municipalities in the province. From the 75, some will start work this November, while others in December.
In his message, Donato Balag, Executive Assistant and representing the Provincial Governor’s Office, congratulated all the applicants for passing the screening process and emphasized the importance of upholding good and proper values for better work and service.
These workers will help the provincial government and other line agencies in data gathering at the barangay level.
Through the leadership of Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., the provincial government adopted and expanded employment opportunities for professional workers in the province, allotting additional funds through Apayao Socio-Economic Efforts Necessary for Growth (ASENG).
With the program, the hiring of ABSW-WORKERS (1 ABSW-WORKERS per barangay ) and increased incentives were made possible.
The wages of ABSW-Workers are now at ₱450/ day and the contract is renewable every three (3) months. Those who shall be employed will be assigned to various barangays. By Michelle Acantilado
