Bontoc, Mountain Province – Some 79 families in the remote barangay of Caneo, this municipality were the recipient of the relief assistance from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Mountain Province.
The identified beneficiaries are the residents whose houses are located in a disaster prone area as earlier confirmed by the Mines and Geo-sciences Bureau- Cordillera Administrative Region (MGB- CAR). The said families are also the beneficiaries of the Core Shelter Assistance Projects (CSAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Prior to this, Governor Leonard G. Mayaen who is also the chair of the Board of Directors of Red Cross- Mountain Province made a request to PRC- National Office for the relief assistance for the landslide threatened village.
With this, personnel from the Red Cross -Mountain Province Chapter headed by Officer in
Charge Veronica Tactay and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led by Anacleto Tangilag personally delivered the relief assistance to the recipients on June 25, 2015.
The relief assistance includes one plastic mat, water container and mosquito net distributed to every family beneficiary.
