CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet June 22 – Eight farmers lured by wrong ideologies voluntarily returned to the folds of law in Abra and Mountain Province over the past several days.
Police authorities revealed that in Abra, alias Macedo, 63; Hilda, 57; Ginwar, 53; and Tani, 65 were former members of Cordillera Peoples’ Democratic Front (PDF); Darna, 48, Lilia, 62 and Haydi; 55 were former Militia ng Bayan. In Mountain Province, alias Bog,37 was once under Platoon AVILA/ Kilusang Larangang Gerilya under Benguet, Abra, Mountain Province and Ilocos Sur.
After series of negotiations initiated by the PROCOR cops together with their families, the eight former rebels finally decided to return to the government authorities.
Meanwhile, alias “Bog” turned over 1 Springfield Cal. 45 Pistol and 4 live ammos for Cal. 45.
Further, all seven Abra returnees are under the custody of Luba Municipal Police Station while alias “Bog” of Mountain Province is at 1502nd Mobile Company, Headquarters, Tadian Mountain Province for documentation and debriefing.
To start anew, the government will help the returnees with the benefits under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). By Hent
