BAGUIO CITY – City officials recently congratulated and commended Mark Angel Paguel Permato of the Saint Louis University (SLU) for placing eighth in the 2024 Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination held last November 2024.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that his achievement has brought honor and pride to the city which is yet another testament that Baguio is indeed the undisputed Educational Center of the North.
Earlier, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that some 688 out of 951 examinees passed the recently concluded Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination given by the Board of Chemical Engineering.
Further, the results of the examination which was released after two working days from the last day of the examination was held in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena and Rosales.
Permato, a SLU alumnus, was one of the 688 examinees who successfully hurdled the said examination held last November 2024.
Moreover, Permato did not only pass the said licensure examination but also landed in eighth place with an average of 88.90 percent.
SLU is one of the higher education institutions in Northern Luzon that produces graduates who usually excel in various licensure examinations being provided by the PRC for the various fields of profession that require licenses from the regulatory agency.
Chemical engineers are among the in-demand professionals worldwide considering the limited number of graduates who complete the course and successfully pass the related licensure examination.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to Permato and the SLU administration for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
