Baguio City is jam packed with different kinds of restaurants and café’s, all unique in their own way. The usual themes you could choose from are Mexican, Italian, Filipino, Chinese, among others.
Among the various cafés are the classy ones and casual ones, with all kinds of target markets whether it be for adults, teenagers, students or seniors. This year, Kate Eyriel Baltazar came up with a fresh idea about the resto/café business and decided to open the Unicorn Dream Café.
The Unicorn Dream Café’s soft opening was this 20th of April 2017. Kate is a co-owner of the Café with her mother. The Unicorn Café’s theme is all about unicorns, colorfulness, and sweetness. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, rice meals, breakfast, pasta, and snacks. The specialties are incredibly colorful and vibrant desserts, shakes, cheesecakes, and drinks that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Kate Baltazar always wanted to open a family business. The inspiration for the Unicorn Dream Café came from a Unicorn-themed café she and her mother patronized during a visit toBangkok. They were so pleased with the café that they wanted to open one home in the hope of sharing their experience with the locals of Baguio.
Kate says the main goal of Unicorn Dream Café is to let people experience a unique café with very colorful walls and fancy chairs, and of course, the specially made shakes and desserts that are unicorn themed. The unicorn mural inside the café was hand painted by the artists Silvino Dulnuan and Kyle Viscara which took them one week to finish.
The pretty colors and unique designs of the desserts are catchy and playful which blend well along with the unicorn mural on the walls. The café is a perfect place to take pictures whether it be selfies or desserts. The pictures of the desserts look just as good as they taste!
The Café is located on the first floor of the Marandnest Dormitory building at Upper Bonifacio corner of J. Sumulong streets. Their target market is students since the café is surrounded by dorms and schools, but of course, the café is open to all ages. If you are a lover of colorful shakes and chill, then visiting this vibrant sweet themed Unicorn Dream Café won’t disappoint you.
