BAGUIO CITY- Chocolate or cocoa is a popular dessert all over the world, and a variety of cuisines involving chocolate had been created.
Along the busy streets of Session Road, we discovered a restaurant serving exquisite cuisine of all- time favourite Filipino delicacies with a twist of cocoa. This sure is good news for all chocolate lovers out there.
“Tsokolateria” was founded by Miss Happy Ongpaocotiu who owns a chain of restaurants primarily “Pamana” and “Hawaiian BBQ” established in the city on March 11, 2015.
Some of their specialties include “Champorado” topped with seven secret cocoa mixes; “Tablea Waffles” that comes with different flavours to choose from. The “Bacon belly Cebu Style” served with “sukang- iloko” also has a twist of cocoa. Lastly, the fluffy Choco mallows are served with an extra pitcher of hot and thick cocoa.
Did you know that only rich people could afford to drink pure cocoa called “Tsokolate-e”? It was introduced in the Philippines during the Spanish regime and after sometime, it was converted to “Tsokolate-a” or “pang- masa” and this is the cocoa that we know today.
