BANGUED, Abra August 20 – A businessman was arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents when they found illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia inside his house during the service of a search warrant at barangay Bliss-angad here at around 7:10 am Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested drug personality in Abra as Medel Brendez Cabjuan alias Medel, single, a businessman and a resident of Bliss-angad, Bangued, Abra.
Seized from his house were one heat sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, four unused aluminum foil strips, one aluminum tooter, two lighters and one scissor.
The search warrant was issued by Judge Corpuz Alzate of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch 1 that resulted to the subsequent arrest of the suspect who is now temporarily detained at the Abra provincial Jail awaiting the filing of the charges of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law against him.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, said law enforcers are relentless in the conduct of anti-illegal drug operations in order to reduce the supply of prohibited drugs that would help spare the youth from being exposed to the serious negative effects of using prohibited drugs in their development as responsible and dedicated citizens of the community.
