The General Manager of the Baguio Water District and past president of the Rotary Club of Baguio North Engr. Salvador M. Royeca turned over a two-sitter comfort room to the pupils and teachers of Adiwang Elementary School on March 6, 2020. The construction of the said comfort room is a joint effort initiated by the Rotary Community Corps and supervised by the Corps Project Coordinator Eugene Patinglag.
The turnover ceremony of this comfort room was witnessed by the high officials of the water concessioner of Baguio City, some Rotarians, members of the Parents Teacher Association, teaching staff, pupils and the Barangay Council.
The past presidents of the Rotary Club of Baguio North and current Gen. Manager of Baguio Water District, handed over the symbolic key to Mrs. Feliza Balawan, Officer-in-Charge on behalf of Dr. Lillie A. Vinluan, school head, who turned it over to the barangay representative, Parents Teachers Association, faculty and staff, and pupils.
In his inaugural speech, PP Salvador M. Royeca reiterate his love on education, further narrated his childhood memory in pursuing his education way back in his home town in Pangasinan. He also further inspired the children to aspire for the better and excel for the best.
Balawan, in her acceptance speech, reiterate the importance of the facility and likewise assured the donor on the upkeep and care of the donated comfort room. Likewise, she inform the pupils they do not need to form lines anymore in using the single sitter comfort room during recess time or to go to the foot of the mountain at the back of the school main building just to urinate. The pupils in expressing their gratitude from the donor perform a cultural dance “Pattong de Iyaman.”
