TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Barangay Agbannawag celebrated today their 10th Harvest Festival with the theme, “Rambakan ti parabor ti tiempo ti apit, isu ti tiempo ti panagkaykaysa ken panagyaman”.
Agbannawag Punong Barangay Zarex Guisob said that the festival is held yearly in celebration of their bountiful harvest, specifically of their rice and corn products.
He informed the public that they highlight the produce from the wide farms in their barangay saying, “Kaadwan ditoy ket mga 80 percent rice and 20 percent of corn.”
Guisob said that LGU Tabuk has been instrumental in giving support to the farmers, “Agyaman tayo iti tulong iti city government through DA ta, mangmangted da iti napintas nga bin-i, ken fertilizer para kadagiti farmers”.
As part of their fruitful celebration, different puroks in the barangay performed and have showcased their talents and skills through dance performances before their guests and visitors.
Councilor Eduardo Sacayle, representing Mayor Darwin Estrañero, said the city government through their relevant programs will continue to support the barangay through the various programs being offered by the different departments.
Currently, Agbannawag is a developing barangay with a population of 6,453 individuals with 1,360 households composed of 1,599 families.
Other officials who witnessed the occasion were Tabuk City Vice Mayor Dick Bal-o, councilors Kristian Wandag, Abraham Licaycay, Thomas Juan Duyan and Ivan Yannick Bagayao, together with Governor James Edduba’s representative Sison Paut and Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang’s representative Regie Wacas.
