LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Gov. Amado I. Espino III created a committee through Executive Order No. 0013-2017 to plan and execute a program of activities for the upcoming celebration of the 437th Foundation Day of the province which will be held on April 5.
The governor created the committee by virtue of Provincial Ordinance No. 143-2010, entitled “An Ordinance Declaring and Citing April 5, 1580 as the Official Foundation Day of Pangasinan” which was enacted by the provincial board on February 15, 2010.
It can be recalled that since its enactment, the provincial government under the stewardship of former governor now 5th district Representative Amado T. Espino, Jr. successfully celebrated the Agew na Pangasinan with meaningful and significant activities to highlight the diverse culture and history of the province.
As such, the present administration endeavored to carry out the celebration and keep the tradition alive by celebrating the event as colorful as ever.
Chaired by Gov. Espino and co-chaired by Vice Governor Calimlim, the honorary members are as follows: Atty Gonzalo T. Duque, Chairman, Pangasinan Historical and Cultural Commission, and all members of the provincial board.
The Executive Committee, on the other hand, is composed of Atty. Nimrod S. Camba, executive chairman; and Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer Maria Luisa A. Elduayan, executive co-chairman.
