LUNA, Apayao – A PhP20 million fund was allotted to bolster agricultural infrastructure support programs across the province this 2024, according to Provincial Office of Agricultural Services, aimed to benefit thousands of farmers in various parts of Apayao, especially in areas where there are thriving agricultural communities.
For the first half of the year, part of the budget already accomplished completion of 5 units of Multi-purpose Drying Pavement (MPDP)with End-shed in lower Apayao amounting to PhP4 million.
Moreover, there shall be construction of three units of MPDPs with End-shed in upper Apayao amounting to PhP3 million. There are also ongoing improvements of Purag Irrigation System in Badduat, Kabugao worth PhP5 million; PhP1 million each are also ongoing for the improvement of 1 unit of warehouse in Calafug, Conner, ongoing construction of 1 unit of multi-purpose shed in Poblacion West, Flora, and ongoing construction of 1 unit of municipal Nursery with potting shed in Bulu, Kabugao; and ongoing procurement of farm equipment and machineries amounting to PhP5 million.
The office expressed hope the ongoing projects will fully be completed and operational the soonest possible time this year, and assured the amount is being thoroughly utilized for the projects, with the Provincial Engineering Office supervising the constructions.
