BONTOC, Mountain Province – The provincial government spearheaded an inter-agency service caravan as a part of the Lang-ay activities with the theme, “Upscaling Farming System for Greater Productivity,” held at the Multi-purpose Hall in the capital town on April 2, 2025.
The activity brought together agricultural extension workers and other offices from the whole province for inter-agency knowledge sharing and management on the different programs, projects, and activities of partner agencies for the agricultural, fishery, and agri-entrepreneurial development in the province.
During the opening program, Provincial Administrator John K. Likigan, representing Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., stressed the relevance of concerted coordination among concerned agencies to further enhance and develop the common goal of bringing quality services to local farmers.
MPAFEC Officer-in-Charge and Provincial Veterinary Rodelio B. Bagawi said that strengthening collaboration among the key stakeholders, which are the Department of Agriculture, local government units, academe and the private sectors, is very crucial in bringing government services to the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, the resource persons who shared their programs and activities that will benefit the local farmers were Mylene M. Palaleo of the Department of Labor and Employment, Aida Pati of the Cooperative Development Authority, Carmencita L. Chaluyen of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Brent Greg Gomuad of the Mountain Province State University, Lizel B. Gacusana and Jessica Gem D. Vicente, both from the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
Moreover, the second day of the activity will accommodate interested farmers, fisherfolk and agri-entrepreneurs for knowledge sharing of successful and mature technologies among them.
In her closing remarks, Provincial Agriculturist Mary Jane S. Tumapang urged the participants to re-echo the important knowledge and ideas that they have learned in their respective offices. By MP-PIO
