SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – An ailing bottle-nose dolphin stranded along the beach shoreline of Barangay Poro, here, was rescued after found with several wounds over the first weekend of June.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council in this city coordinated to the provincial veterinarian office to give medical treatment due to verge of extinction of the said wounded endangered specie.
It was learned that the creature was given esophageal tube for temporary breath thoroughly before it was ferried to Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) rehabilitation center in Sto. Tomas tomas town, by using a rescue rubber boat.
