Nobody would be left behind in Baguio’s vaccine program.
City Health Services Office (CHSO) personnel are making sure that everyone in the priority list gets vaccinated, including vulnerables such as senior citizens. Thus, a mobile team conducts house-to-house immunization in far-flung barangays for immobilized individuals, persons with disabilities (PWD) and senior citizens.
Led by Assistant CHS Officer Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes, the team is composed of a screener, vaccinator, counselor, volunteer, and ambulance driver.
Said scheme however was modified to bring mobile vaccination to fixed sites nearer barangay dwellers.
Privately owned institutions such as the Divine Mercy church, the University of the Cordilleras High School, PEZA, and the Baguio Country Club were transformed into vaccination sites for Atab, City Camp, Atok Trail and Loakan, Mines View and Pacdal residents. Other districts such as Lucban, Aurora Hill, Quirino Hill, Engineers Hill and Scout Barrio also had their vaccination centers.
Vaccination also is now being done daily, as against the past month’s Tuesday to Fridays only.
In a media forum, Assistant City Health Services Officer Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes confirmed that at least 40 Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) patients from the 80 listed received their Covid-19 shots either in clinics or at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).
Persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) also received their jabs with the vaccinators donning Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and adhering to minimum health protocols before entering the facility.
Barangay officials with were also requested to gather vulnerables, unvaccinated residents and indigents (A5) for vaccination.
After the A1 (health workers), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (adults with comorbidities), A4 (essential workers) and A5 (indigent population) vaccination shall be conducted for teachers and social workers, other government essential workers, others at high risk than senior citizens, and rest of the population.
