DOLORES, Abra – A 45-year old ambulance driver of a local government died after he was shot to death by a still unidentified gun-wielding suspect while he was on his way home at barangay Namit-ingan, here, Thursday dawn.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Larry Tanura Baldemor alias “Aning”, 45, ambulance driver in the municipality of San Juan, Abra, and resident of Namit-ingan, Dolores, Abra..
Police stated that the victim had a drinking spree with some friends and relatives in their neighbrhood when he had a sudden heated altercation with his cousin, Arnel Tagudar, 32, a resident of Namit-ingan, Dolores, Abra, until the latter left the scene.
By midnight, the victim left the place and was walking along the road when a gunshot was heard that emanated from a still undisclosed direction.
Witnesses informed probers that after the gunshot was heard, they saw the victim running along the road but he suddenly collapsed in front of the residence of Punong Barangay Noli Torquiza.
Concerned residents rushed the victim to the Dolores Medical Hospital for emergency treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to a lone gunshot wound 9 pellet holes on his abdomen and left forearm.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene a shrapnel of a 12-gauge shotgun that was used in the said incident while the victim’s cousin was invited by the probers for the conduct of investigation and paraffin test to ascertain his involvement in the murder case.
