BAGUIO CITY – Hundreds of mining industry stakeholders will again converge in the city for the upcoming 71st edition of the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment (PMSEA) Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference on November 18-21, 2025.
PMSEA president and ASEAN Engineer Luis R. Sarmiento said that the theme of this year’s conference is Mission Possible: Building Strategic Alliance for Sustainable Progress’ that will highlight the significant gains of the mineral industry amidst the prevailing global challenges.
Activities of the week-long event will be conducted at the Baguio Country Club (BCC) and the CAP John Hay Trade and Cultural Center as well as the Melving Jones football field specifically for the mine safety Olympic that will be participated by various operating mines from the different parts of the country.
Baguio has been the one of PMSEA’s annual gathering considering the enormous contributions of mining to the overall growth and development of the city for over a century now.
One of the significant contributions of PMSEA to the city is the adoption of the PMSEA Garden within the famous Botanical Garden, through the active support of the Itogon Suyoc Resources, Inc. (ISRI), which is now one of the most frequented areas in the city’s premier tourist destination because of the presence of thousands of endemic flora and fauna being maintained to help in preserving and protecting the environment in the said area.
Sarmiento expressed hope on another resounding success in the conduct of the annual gathering of mining industry stakeholders for them to share their strategic alliances that continue to pave the way for sustainable and responsible mining operations around the mineral-rich areas in the country.
Part of the activities include the annual conference of community relations officers of mining companies and the minerals industry symposium where mining companies will present their respective best practices in their operations that have paved the way for sustainable mining operations in the different parts of the archipelago.
