TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Ama Arturo K. Bayog, a resident of the city received his P50,000 Centenarian cash incentive from the provincial government through the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) led by PSWD officer Rose Maritez Oyawon.
Governor James S. Edduba turned over the cheque and assisted Ama Arturo in imprinting his thumbmark on the receipt after an exchange of a blissful conversation.
Ama Arturo can still clearly understand things, walks with his cane, responds well to chitchats, and even remembers past presidents. He hears, and sees things clearly. He also shared stories about how he loves his wife and his seven children.
In a short interview, he said that he will use the money in preparing his tomb. He wishes to have a deer-shaped tomb at Ileb Cemetery. He also mentioned that he received the same cash assistance from the city government through Mayor Darwin Estrañero which he shared with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Before Ama Arturo left, Governor Edduba handed him PhP5000 out of his pocket as an early Christmas gift, saying he was amazed by Ama Arturo’s strength and discipline in keeping a healthy lifestyle.
Ama Arturo expressed his gratitude to the Governor for maintaining such programs. The Governor responded by saying, “naggapu kanyayo, naggapo kadagiti umili dayta maaw-awat yo tatta. Sitayo lang iti mangiturong tapno marikna yo dagiti serbisyo nga usto para kanyayo.”
Congratulations Ama! May God bless you a longer, healthier and a happier life.
