LUNA, Apayao – The Apayao Agro-Industrial and Tourism Fair officially opened to the public with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr. and Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang on February 10 at San Gregorio, Luna, as part of Apayao’s 30th Founding Anniversary celebration.
Department of Trade and Industry–Cordillera (DTI CAR) Regional Director Atty. Raymond G. Panhon graced the event that gathered more than 30 entrepreneurs showcasing various yApayao products and services.
With the theme, “Apayao beyond 30: Enjoying Progress, Championing the Environment, and Building Investments,” the fair, which will run until February 17, highlights the province’s agricultural strengths, growing industries, and its tourism potential.
Gov. Bulut in his message commended the exhibitors for their hard work in designing booths that reflect the identity of each municipality despite the bad weather. He likewise encouraged continuous support for locally made products and sustained efforts to boost the province’s micro, small, and medium enterprises.
Congresswoman Bulut-Begtang, on the other hand, urged local producers and craftsmen to keep innovating and supporting Apayao-made goods. She also emphasized the importance of homegrown business in economic development.
Meanwhile, Director Panhon highlighted the various support programs and services available to Apayao entrepreneurs.
During the event, farm machineries were also distributed to various associations in the province. These interventions aim to boost productivity and promote sustainable economic growth in communities. By Michelle Acantilado
