LUNA, Apayao – The Province of Apayao, under the leadership of Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr., has been honored with the prestigious Gawad Edukampsyon for Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) in the Province Category.
This recognition was conferred during the Gawad Edukampsyon for Local Governance Awarding Ceremony held at Novotel Manila in Quezon City on May 4.
The Gawad Edukampyon for ECCD is awarded to local government units that demonstrate exemplary compliance with ECCD Council program delivery and other standards, as well as innovative and effective supplementary programs focusing on early stimulation and the promotion of proper health and nutrition among children.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and the Provincial Health Office have been instrumental in overseeing and implementing the ECCD programs across the province.
Governor Bulut, a staunch advocate for respecting, protecting, and fulfilling the rights of every child to receive responsive and effective services, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting ECCD programs at the provincial level.
Accepting the award on behalf of the province were Provincial Health Officer Dr. Mark Joleen Calban, ECCD Focal Person Thelma Pugyao, and Verlie Mae Baldovino.
This feat echoes the continuity of outstanding programs in Apayao, as the province had previously received the same award in 2021 under the leadership of then-Governor, now Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang. By JCM
