LUNA, Apayao – Some 190 Child Development Workers (CDWs) in the province received essential supplies from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) as part of the Child Development Workers’ Week in late June.
The items included rain boots, backpacks, bond paper, filing boxes, Bluetooth speakers, colored paper, board paper, umbrellas, and staplers. This initiative aims to enhance the CDWs’ ability to perform their duties more effectively, ensuring better care and development opportunities for children in the province.
Apayao has a Child Development Center (CDC) in each of its municipalities, serving children aged 3-4. These centers provide social learning experiences, mental stimulation, and value inculcation, supervised by CDWs while parents are at work.
The provincial government is recognized for its strong commitment to Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), having received the Gawad Edukampyon for ECCD award twice. By PIO Apayao
