The 2025 Provincial Child Development Workers (CDW) Week was held on June 05, at Bacut Lake Hall in Barangay Marcela.
A total of 170 CDWs in the province attended the said event, which carried the theme “Child Development Workers sa Bagong Pilipinas: Mapagkalinga, Makabayan at Makabata.”
The first provincial benchmarking of Child Development Centers (CDCs) was conducted, with the San Carlos and Nueva CDCs of Santa Marcela serving as model centers for the activity. Organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), the event aimed to promote best practices in early childhood care and development.
Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) supplies such as printers, ink, paper, storage units, and hydration containers were also distributed to support the operational needs of CDWs in their respective areas.
Seventeen CDWs received certificates of recognition after meeting the criteria for Levels 1, 2, and 3 in the Day Care Center and Worker Accreditation process. The accredited CDCs include San Jose, Shalom, National, San Isidro Norte, Poblacion, Turod, San Isidro Sur, Sta. Lina, Calayucay, Quirino, Caglayan Paddig, Calafug, and Guinamgaman Centro for Level 1; Tumog, Dagupan, and Bacsay for Level 2; and San Gregorio for Level 3.
A stress management session was facilitated by Janine Guillermo, Psychometrician from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), to provide participants with tools and strategies for self-care.
Moreover, MSWDO Ignacia Aman delivered a message of appreciation to all the participants, while Social Welfare Officer III Lailani Ongto and Provincial ECCD Focal Person Thelma Pugyao acknowledged the dedication of CDWs and encouraged them to continue strengthening child development programs in their communities.
