LUNA, Apayao – The provincial government ushered in the holiday season with a dazzling display of lights at its Christmas Village, officially illuminated on November 21, 2023, at the Provincial Government Center Compound.
The ceremonial switch-on was led by Provincial Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr., and Congressman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, and attended by local officials, heads of national government agencies and interested individuals witnessing this year’s most anticipated provincial government-sponsored Christmas event.
The festive event created a magical atmosphere that marked the beginning of this year’s Yuletide celebrations under the theme, “Be home in Apayao this Christmas – A celebration of one hope, one people, and one destiny.”
The village features a 57-foot Christmas Tree, glimmering lights, colorful Christmas decors, European-inspired exhibits, and water fountains at the heart-shaped Provincial Capitol foreground in San Isidro, Luna.
The Christmas tree, being the centerpiece, symbolizes prosperity and its decorations, the unity and aspirations of all yApayao. It displays colors of traditional clothing of the province and its being one with the region of Cordillera.
The Christmas Village will be open to visitors daily from 6 PM to 10 PM, providing an opportunity for families, friends, and tourists to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere. Various activities and attractions are planned throughout the holiday season, including live performances, and seasonal treats. By JCM
