CALANASAN, Apayao – The Casiggamman Agriculture Cooperative in Sta. Filomena, Calanasan, Apayao is gearing up for a major development as it prepares to commence construction on its PhP10M-worth of intervention project under the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Repopulation and Expansion (INSPIRE) Program of the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera (DA-CAR).
A groundbreaking ceremony and pre-construction conference were held on May 7, 2024, in Calanasan, Apayao, marking a significant milestone for the cooperative and the local community. The event served as a platform for project implementers, including the contractor and beneficiaries, to discuss key issues and ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
DA-CAR Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations, Arlene M. Sagayo, expressed optimism about the project, stating that the provincial office’s innovation in the project will make it a model for other INSPIRE projects in the future. She emphasized the support of the local government, particularly the offices of the governor and the mayor, in ensuring the successful completion of the project.
Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr., underscored the project’s potential to generate employment opportunities, especially for women in the municipality. He assured the necessary technical and financial support to ensure the project’s success, urging beneficiaries to demonstrate publicly their commitment to the project’s goal.
Hence, Mayor Shamir M. Bulut expressed gratitude to the DA-CAR and the provincial governor’s office for their support. He highlighted the project’s significance for the municipality and assured full cooperation to ensure its success.
“Our municipality will benefit greatly from this project. You should feel confident that we will assist with this endeavor in any way that is required. We’ll support one another to make it successful,” he stated.
The project is scheduled to be completed within 120 days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. By Leny D. Mendoza
