LUNA, Apayao – The provincial government has been granted a P20 million financial assistance from the Office of the President, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The allocated funds are intended to address the needs of yApayaos affected by Typhoon Egay, which brought devastation to the province. Recognizing the urgency, the Office of the President (OP) deems it necessary to extend financial aid to the province. This grant is earmarked for utilization over a one-year period, starting from the date of the fund transfer.
According to Section 2.8 of the Office Order No.2, s.2016, “General Guidelines on the Management and Administration of the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF),” various forms of special assistance, whether financial or otherwise, can be provided to individuals, communities, or group beneficiaries for public health and other socio-civic purposes.
The OP is set to release a total amount of Twenty Million Pesos (PhP20,000,000) from the SCPF, with disbursement following a specified schedule. The initial tranche of PhP15,000,000 will be released immediately, and the second tranche of PhP5,000,000 will follow upon the submission of liquidation/disbursement documents for the first tranche.
The Provincial Social Welfare Department Office assessed Typhoon Egay victims in Kabugao last October 10-14, 2023. Beneficiaries will receive a PhP5000 cash assistance to address their basic needs. By Krizza Joy Castillo
