LUNA, Apayao – The Province of Apayao has new Department of Education School Division Superintendent and Assistant SDS who have been installed on June 30 at Luna Central School here in a simple installation and turn over ceremony.
Dr. Arnold B. Castillo is back in his home province after three years and four months of serving the Division of Abra where he was conferred the SDS position. He replaced Dr. Amador Garcia who served the Division of Apayao for more than a year and will be returning in Abra as OIC ASDS.
Assistant SDS Benedicta B. Gamatero, a local of Pudtol, Apayao will be going out of the Province and will be serving as the new OIC SDS in the Division of Mt. Province. She is replaced by Dr. Samuel T. Egsaen from Baguio City Division.
Dr. Castillo said he will bring with him the experiences and the best lessons he learned in Abra. He thanked his colleagues and constituents for taking good care of him while he was away from home. He also expressed his gratitude to Governor Elias Bulut, Jr. and Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang for their full support in all the programs of DepEd.
In the message sent by Governor Bulut, he appreciated the efforts of the outgoing SDS Garcia. “The Province of Apayao will forever be grateful for your service to the province, a service that was characterized by unparalleled dedication and commitment to the province’s goal of putting in place the necessary facilities and programs that we hope will help improve the quality of education,” Gov. Bulut stressed.
“We send you off with grateful but heavy heart. Nonetheless, bring with you with our fervent prayers and best wishes in your respective new assignments. We hope that in your brief stay and service in the Apayao Schools Division, you have also gained valuable experiences and knowledge that could be of help in your new positions, and in your respective careers,” Gov. Bulut said to the outgoing SDS and ASDS.
Meanwhile, Gov. Bulut gladly welcomed SDS Castillo and ASDS Egsaen. “Having had the privilege of working with you before your untimely assignment in Abra, I am confident that we could sustain if not surpass the accomplishment SDS Garcia will be leaving behind,” Gov. Bulut underscored.
Officer-in-Charge Assistant Regional Director Soraya T. Faculo facilitated the turn over ceremony and installation of SDS Castillo and ASDS Egsaen.
SDS Castillo went out of Apayao on February 19, 2014. He was then the Assistant SDS and the OIC SDS. “This would be a repeat performance,” SDS Castillo said as he reminisced the past. BY GERRIAHZON S. SEBASTIAN
