BARAS, Rizal – The provincial government’s Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) recently conducted a benchmarking activity at Masungi Georeserve in Baras, Rizal on November 23, 2023.
Led by ENRD Chief Marcelo Menor, the ENRD staff and the Apayao Green Guards explored the georeserve to prepare for the potential inscription of Apayao as the 4th UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the country. The visit aimed to familiarize them with innovative environmental protection and conservation strategies employed by Masungi Georeserve.
The Masungi Georeserve team expressed gratitude for the exchange of best practices and learning experiences during the visit, acknowledging the collaboration with the Provincial Government of Apayao in enhancing forest protection and enforcement efforts.

After taking the trail, our team and theirs shared some of the best practices we have on forest protection and enforcement.
