LUNA, Apayao – In commemoration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA) organized the yApayao Triathlon Relay for government employees at AETSC in Luna on September 27, 2023.
The triathlon relay featured kadang-kadang, swimming, and running, challenging participants to showcase their endurance across various distances. Triathletes vied for the fastest overall completion time, navigating each segment sequentially.
Provincial Administrator Eddmar Pascua, in his welcome remarks, emphasized that the triathlon relay symbolized the inter-agency unity in the province.
Likewise Provincial Health Officer Dr. Mark Joleen Calban stressed the significance of a healthy lifestyle, noting that “every public servant understands its importance.”
Further, Vice Governor Remy N. Albano reflected on the uniqueness of organizing a triathlon relay in the province and expressed the provincial government’s support for such celebratory activities.
The champions of the event were Cluster IV, securing a prize of PhP 30,000. Cluster VI claimed the 1st Runner-Up position with a reward of PhP 25,000, while Cluster V took the 2nd Runner-Up spot, receiving PhP 20,000. By Michelle Acantilado
