LUNA, Apayao – The 50th Nutrition Month Celebration kicked off today, July 2, at the BGVJr. Memorial Sports Center, featuring various activities aimed at engaging the youth.
Events included Zumba Teens, Digital Poster Making, Mural Painting, and the awarding of free-range chickens to families with malnourished children.
In the Zumba Teens competition, the municipality of Santa Marcela won first place, taking home PhP15,000. Flora secured second place with a PhP10,000 prize, and Pudtol came in third, winning PhP5,000.
For the Digital Poster Making high school category, Bacda National High School clinched first place with a PhP10,000 prize. San Francisco National Agricultural and Trade High School participants secured both the second and third spots, each winning PhP7,000.
In the open category of Digital Poster Making, Jhun Kenneth Agustin took first place, followed by Freddie in second, and Jericho Villazar in third.
The event also served as a convergence program for partner agencies, including the Office for Agricultural Services, Provincial Veterinary Office, Department of Education, Department of Health, and Department of Interior and Local Government.
The celebration concluded with the awarding of free-range chickens to families with undernourished children. By PIO Apayao
