LUNA, Apayao – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) facilitated the Re-Orientation on Disaster Risk Reduction Management Awareness for Apayao State College (ASC) personnel and workforce on May 9,2024.
The orientation aimed at raising awareness of the importance of being prepared when calamity strikes as the province is vulnerable to natural disasters such as flooding and landslides.
The orientation was attended and actively participated in by 66 college personnel and employees from Luna and Conner Campus.
Josephine M. Ulayan of the PDRMMO discussed the concepts, nature, and types of disasters, risk mitigation, and emergency management, presenting relevant and valuable information to help create a culture of preparedness and resilience in the face of disasters.
The culture of disaster resilience and preparedness is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals and communities.
During emergencies and disasters, ASC employees play a critical role in ensuring the continuity of operations and the safety of all stakeholders and students.
It is essential for employees to understand their roles and responsibilities during emergencies, including evacuation procedures, communication protocols, and recovery plans.
