LUNA, Apayao — The Provincial Health Office (PHO) Apayao conducted its annual Paskuhan sa Barangay program in San Jose, Luna, Apayao, on December 18, 2024, gathering approximately 250 households.
The Paskuhan sa Barangay offered a much-needed celebration of hope and resilience, especially during the holiday season.
Under the leadership of Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., said yearly program of the provincial government aims to foster solidarity among the residents while promoting health and wellness in barangays across the province.
This program highlighted the strength of the community amidst the many challenges residents face including the aftermath of recent typhoons and disasters.
Elmer Balicat, Barangay Captain of San Jose, warmly welcomed the crowd and expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the provincial government.
“Napakasaya ng ganitong programa, dahil ramdam na ramdam namin ang suporta at sayang hatid ng provincial government of Apayao kaya malaking pasasalamat namin sainyong lahat dahil ginawa niyong makabuluhan ang pasko namin,” he noted.
The PHO underscored the importance of this activity reminding attendees the true meaning of the holidays and the Spirit of Christmas in overcoming adversity.
“Christmas is more than a season—it’s a celebration of hope, love, and renewal. It reminds us that even in life’s challenges, as through typhoons and disasters, there is light to guide us, grace to lift us, and joy to share,” PHO stated.
In said celebration, gift-giving took center stage as community members received essential items and holiday treats. There were also parlor games added to the fun, encouraging laughter and bonding among families and neighbors, reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie that defines the community.
With the theme “Progreso ng Probinsya, Progreso ng bawat Isa, the Paskuhan sa Barangay not only marked the holiday season but also served as a reminder of the power of unity in progressing towards a better future for everyone in the province. By Joyce Arian Soria
