LUNA, Apayao – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) in collaboration with the Municipal Health Office of Luna (MHO) conducted the Buntis Health Fest last December 17, 2024 held at the Rural Health Unit (RHU).
The Fest was celebrated with the theme “Empowering Pregnant Women: Nurturing Health and Happiness for Future Generations,” which aimed at educating and empowering women as they journey through pregnancy.
The fest also emphasized the importance of prenatal consultations in preventing maternal morbidity and mortality.
During said event, around 30 pregnant benefitted from various health advocacies. Some of the topics discussed were pre-natal and post-natal care, immunization, sanitation, nutrition, exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding, including family planning and the importance of HIV/AIDS and dengue awareness.
The participants likewise received their mosquito nets, dental kits, buntis essential and newborn kits at the event. By Michelle Acantilado
