LUNA, Apayao – The Provincial Government, through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), in collaboration with Luna Rural Health Unit (RHU) successfully held the BHW and BNS Summit 2024 at San Isidro Gym, Luna, Apayao on November 26, 2024.
This summit served as a means to recognize tireless efforts of barangay health workers (BHWs) and barangay nutrition scholars (BNS) in serving their fellows in their respective communities.
During the event, Dr. Yema Grace Papa commended the selfless dedication of the BHWs and BNS in providing healthcare services, reminding the workers of the importance of their work, saying “As we strive to enhance primary healthcare services, update our knowledge and skills, and foster collaboration, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening community engagement.”
Papa likewise encouraged the health and nutrition workers to work together to improve the lives of the people in the area of responsibility.
“Let us unite, share our best practices, and rekindle our passion for delivering quality healthcare. Together, we can improve health outcomes, bolster community resilience, and promote holistic well-being. Let us continue improving lives and building healthier communities,’’ said Dr. Papa to the participants.
On the other hand, Development Management Officer Philip Uba, on behalf of the Provincial Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the participants for their services to the people.
“Bigbigen mi ti napintas ken saan nga malipatan nga kontribusyon yu, sakripisyo ken dedikasyon nga en kayo ipapaay ti kabaranggayan tayu,” Uba said.
Marilyn Aman, Provincial BHW Coordinator, for her part, asked the workers to continue doing well and continue improving, saying “dagidiay accredited nga BHWs, itultuloy yu kuma tapnu agbalin kayo met nga Health Education and Promotion Officer ta adu benefits na daytoy. Adda diay nag-training iti HEPO ti new manual itatta nga tawen ket maikkan iti National Certificate II.”
During the summit, some activities like Zumba competition and parlor games were held which were participated in by various districts. By Loremia Pareja
