PAGUDPUD, Ilocos Norte – The Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) of the Apayao convened on July 31, 2024 at Nest Resort, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte for its 2nd quarter Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) meeting.
The meeting was led by POPS TWG Leader Engr. Henry Caluducan, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Alyssa Joyce Du-Sampaga Focal person of Peace and Order and Department of Interior and Local Government representative Edward Errol Ucol.
Other attendees include regular members of the council such as the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Armed Forces of the Philippines 17th Infantry Battalion, Land Transportation Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Provincial Planning and Development Office, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, provincial government and Office of the Provincial Administrator.
The 2nd quarter meeting tackled issues related to peace and security in the province.
The primary topics of discussion included combating criminal activity, maintaining law and order, and fund utilization to each council member. The gathering also allowed members to exchange ideas and offer projects that could help maintain overall peace and order in the province.
Sampaga encouraged everyone’s participation while highlighting the relevance of the planning activity . She added that the commitment of each office not only in the crafting of the plan but also in its implementation is highly expected.
Moreover, Caluducan recognized the commitment of council members, acknowledging their important role in the shared endeavor to create a safer province. He likewise urged dedication in promoting peace and order amidst various challenges.
