LUNA, Apayao – In a bid to strengthen sustainable livestock production and uplift local farmers, the provincial government, through the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), launched the Farmer Livestock Schools (FLS) Training Program on February 13, 2024 at the Grandstand in Payanan, San Gregorio, Luna, Apayao.
Over 60 residents from the municipalities of Calanasan, Flora, Pudtol, Santa Marcela, and Luna attended the event. These farmers will take part in the training that mainly focuses on livestock management, proposing effective strategies for the sustainability of farm production and the farmer’s livelihood.
According to the PVO, the FLS Training Program provides hands-on learning and technical assistance to the farmers on livestock farming. Graduates of the program will have the opportunity to avail livelihood projects such as sheep, cattle, or carabao, further supporting their means of income and economic growth.
Provincial Veterinarian, Dr. Ralph M. Verzon expressed his gratitude to Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. and Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang for their support in this initiative. He underlined the necessity of the program that aligns with Apayao’s goal of promoting agricultural sustainability and food security.
“Nalaus a panagyaman kadagiti duwa a lideres tayo iti kanayon a suporta da iti Farmer Livestock Schools agsipud pay idi damu.
