LUNA, Apayao – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Apayao held its 8th Regular Session on March 4, 2025, at the SP Session Hall in San Isidro Sur, Luna, Apayao, presided over by Board Member Vincent S. Talattag.
Provincial legislators acted on various proposed ordinances, communications, and committee reports during the session. Among the measures acted upon was the granting of authority to Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. to enter into multiple agreements, including a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with FL Vargas College Inc. for On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunities, an agreement with DSWD-CAR and the seven municipalities for the implementation of Risk Resiliency Program through Cash-For-Training and -Work (RRP-CFTW CY 2024), a partnership with Arellano Review Center for Civil Service Exam review sessions, and a MOA with Apayao State College, represented by its President Dr. John N. Cabansag, Ph.D., for student internships.
The session also saw the approval of several resolutions, including the accreditation of the Dagupan Cacao Growers Association in Barangay Dagupan, Luna, an endorsement of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Social Security System (SSS) for social security coverage of job order and contract of service workers under the provincial government, endorsements for commercial sand and gravel (CSAG) permit applications, and measures strengthening health promotion programs to prevent violence and injury against women and children.
Additionally, the SP passed various appropriation ordinances for the annual budgets of FY 2025 for the municipalities of Calanasan, Luna, Flora, and Kabugao.
