LUNA, Apayao – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), presided over by Vice Governor Remy N. Albano, acted on several proposed ordinances, communications, and committee reports during their 33rd regular session on September 3, 2024 held at Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall San Isidro Sur, Luna, Apayao.
The Board Members present were Hon. Kyle Mariah Chelsea Bulut- Cunan, Hon. Vincent Talattag, Hon. Elmer Molina, Hon. Elmer Canonizado, Hon. Rosario Labueng, Jr., Hon. Emiliano Galleon, Hon. Hanz Gerald Palacay, Hon. Marcial Valiente, Hon. Mcleen Julian, Hon. Alison Betat, Hon. John Anthony Amid and Hon. Sedolito Bernard Agunos.
With the work of the provincial legislators, accountability, openness, and community involvement in decision-making are practiced ensuring democratic process and participation. This helps the province of Apayao and the yApayaos grow and prosper better.
A number of proposals that were approved and were elevated for second reading as a consequence of the session. Among them were the ordinances adopting a mechanism for addressing grievances pertaining to senior citizens and person with disabilities (PWD) in the municipality; an ordinance establishing a thorough anti-discrimination policy; and an ordinance controlling the sale, distribution, use, and communication of novel tobacco products and vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine products.
