LUNA, Apayao – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), presided over by Vice Governor Remy N. Albano, acted on several committee reports, municipal ordinances, and petitions during the 34th regular session on September 10 at Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall San Isidro Sur, Luna, Apayao.
The Board Members present were Hon. Kyle Mariah Chelsea Bulut-Cunan, Hon. Vincent Talattag, Hon. Elmer Canonizado, Hon. Elmer Molina, Hon. Rosario Labueng Jr., Hon. Emiliano Galleon, Hon. Mcleen Julian, Hon. John Anthony Amid, Hon. Alison Betat and Hon. Hanz Gerald Palacay.
The provincial legislators’ persistent efforts to involve communities in decision making help create a government that is more transparent, accountable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs and aspirations of yApayaos.
The ordinances tackled the ordinance declaring and recognizing Tawit Pudtol Apayao as the oldest town and the First Sub-Provincial Capital of Apayao; Ordinance adopting the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP) for the Municipality of Luna Apayao for the year 2021-2025; an Ordinance requiring all riders of motorcycles, kurong-kurong, e-bike, scooters and bicycles to wear high visibility reflectorized jackets while traversing the national highway on all roads in the Municipality of Luna from 6:00 in the evening to 6:00 in the morning and heavy rains or typhoons; Ordinance requiring business establishment to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in their respective areas for security reason to incorporate the specifications of CCTV systems and other provisions useful to intensify the anti-criminality campaign in Luna, Apayao; updating the PhilHealth Capitation Fund Ordinance of the municipality of Luna, and the ordinance providing the creation of Educational Assistance Program for the Indigenous Peoples in the Municipality of Santa Marcela.
