BAGUIO CITY – The provincial government of Apayao, recently conducted a four-day Convergence and Capacity Building Seminar for the Provincial Information and Technology Team (PITT) held from April 22 to 25, 2025, at Mines View Park Hotel, Baguio City.
The seminar aimed to sharpen the technical skills, coordination, and strategic planning of the province’s IT personnel in order to have a stronger support for Apayao’s digital programs.
Provincial Administrator Arnold Castillo, acting Loyd Rio Karl Sion of the Human Resource and Management Office, consultants, and PITT members attended the said activity.
The program opened with a discussion about the important role of IT in safeguarding Apayao’s digital infrastructure from cybersecurity and system maintenance to technical support and digital innovation.
Over the course of four days, participants underwent sessions covering various topics such as the importance of an agile IT team, strategies for better team management, hands-on training on website maintenance and content management systems, a critical review of the provincial website, familiarization with the Human Resource Management Information System, and an overview of the E-Apayao initiative.
The sessions also focused on practical website troubleshooting techniques and task restructuring, allowing the team to reset priorities, clarify responsibilities, and set new project timelines. By Krizza Castillo
